Modern factories are now mostly using robots instead of human. Robots are faster, don’t make mistake, able to do the jobs that human couldn’t do or dangerous jobs.
A typical robot used in manufacturing
In industry, robot used in manufacturing looks like human’s arm called, ‘Robotic Arms’. They are strong, have various tools attached and controlled by microprocessor.
Advantages of using robots in manufacturing:
- work non-stop
- able to work in extreme or dangerous environment
- work faster/produce more
- work more accurately than humans
- able to save over time by not paying money to the robots
Disadvantages of using robots in manufacturing:
- very expensive to set up
- take off people’s job
- can’t make decisions
- it can break down
